I think most of the time the quality of a person is just a reflection of the quality of their upbringing. Jason being cut down just as he was about to break out big time (and him being such a great rock guitarist/shredder) is one of the worst crimes against humanity. Sure, there's always a silver lining but still... I think most people would not go for this but would rather have seen him healthy and playing more guitar. I never really listened much to his stuff although I've heard some of it (the Cacophany stuff, I mean). I've heard enough to know he was so good and we can only imagine what he might have done beyond that. I shouldn't complain about minor aches and pains. I had finger damage to many fingertips and couldn't play at all from 2000 to 2010. I had to stop touching things altogether. It was maddening but nothing to be done but not use them. after 10 years, I got maybe 80% back. I feel I'm about 90% now if I don't press too hard. 10 years of no guitar whatsoever and I was myself... a pretty good player so it's just tough losing something you love. Jason.... I would probably have already died of panic being trapped in my body like that. Hope your days are filled with joys that we will never fully comprehend.

Jason Becker has been experiencing problems on his breath. I know he's fine now, but that doesn't change the fact that he's still in the last stage of his disease. So regardless of how he is going now, I really doubt he's living for another two years. Hopefully, may live long Jason.

So, is Jason composing through a DAW using a sequencer/piano reel and then guitarist play the composition for recording? This seems the practical method anyway. When I first searched for his DAW based compositions, I was thinking it would be electronic synthesizer music lol.

The closest comparison is Hendrix’ Star Spangled Banner…..and Jimi Hendrix doesn’t compare to this guy. JH was great, an innovator, way ahead of his time. Hendrix had “soul.” Yes, all true. Hendrix also had peaked. But JB was just beginning to scratch the surface of his talent when he was diagnosed with ALS.
